First Visit

A typical appointment with the Hearing Doctors lasts just 30 to 45 minutes. Here’s what you can expect:

Minimal paperwork.

When you arrive at Hearing Doctors for your appointment, your doctor will personally work with you to gather any information he needs to know. If it’s your first visit a there will be a three-in-one form to sign and we will obtain a copy of your insurance information.

A good case history.

Your doctor will ask about any hearing problems you’re having, and your medical background. Family history, medications, medical conditions — they can all affect your hearing and treatment.

Basic tests.

A series of quick, painless tests will include a visual inspection of your ears, and measurements of how well you hear speech, understand speech, and hear different frequencies.

A sit-down with your doctor.

Your doctor will talk with you — and a family member, if you like — about your test results. This is a great time to ask questions about your hearing.

Recommendations.

You and your doctor will discuss possible treatment options, from hearing aids or other listening devices, to medical referrals or future checkups.
